Jason Goris (Jay)
Biography:
Jay’s journey is proof that hard work and the right opportunity can change a life.
When Jay first walked into Wiedenbach Performance in 2020, the world was in the middle of the COVID pandemic. Like many New Yorkers, he was struggling. Work had dried up, and he was delivering Uber Eats by bicycle just to make ends meet.
What stood out wasn’t his résumé.
It was his attitude.
Jay was always asking questions, eager to learn, and determined to improve. He spent countless hours learning about training, nutrition, and coaching, often staying long after his own workouts to observe sessions and absorb as much knowledge as possible. His work ethic made it impossible not to invest in him.
Today, Jay is one of the most beloved members of our team. Clients appreciate his positive attitude, patience, and genuine desire to help them succeed. Behind the scenes, his attention to detail is second to none. Whether it’s making sure every dumbbell is in its place or keeping the gym spotless, Jay’s “lovable OCD” reflects the pride he takes in creating a first-class experience for every client who walks through our doors.
His own transformation became a symbol of what is possible through consistency and discipline. After committing himself to the process, Jay achieved an incredible physical transformation that earned him a place on our Times Square billboard celebrating Maik Wiedenbach being named America’s Best Personal Trainer by Men’s Journal.
For us, the billboard wasn’t just about recognition.
It was about celebrating how far someone can go when they refuse to quit.
Jay brings that same belief to every client he coaches: show up, trust the process, and remarkable things can happen.
