Joseph Dibiaso
Biography:
I started coaching during the pandemic to help people stay grounded through tough times. For me, fitness has always been more than a job—it’s been therapy, discipline, and a lifeline. I committed to training when I realized it could quiet my mind as much as it could strengthen my body. That mindset shift changed everything, and now I help others experience the same.
With a background in powerlifting and a focus on pain-free, functional movement, I specialize in rebuilding bodies from the ground up. Whether you’re recovering from an injury or just feeling stuck in your progress, I’ll help you break plateaus and move with confidence.
Before coaching, I worked as a chef—so I know the power of building something meaningful from the ground up. When I’m not in the gym, you’ll find me experimenting in the kitchen or immersed in a good game (tabletop or video).
Maik here: Having watched Joe working with clients for a year now, I am truly impressed with him. He has a quiet, but very assuring way about him and how he instills confidence in his clients. Because of his quiet but never wavering demeanor on the gym floor, I call him U-96 after the movie Das Boot since he moves like a submarine. Never hasty, always on point.
From his client Kasiva More than a decade ago, I fell in love with training—and over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with phenomenal coaches across the U.S. and abroad. For the past two years, I’ve been searching for a private gym that combines elite training with excellence in environment and coaching.
I’m thrilled to have finally found that at Maik Wiedenbach’s gym, and to be partnering with Joe Dibiaso.
The gym is exceptional—immaculately clean, thoughtfully designed, and outfitted with some of the best equipment I’ve ever seen. But what truly sets this place apart is the people.
Joe is not only highly knowledgeable, but also warm, flexible, deeply committed, and genuinely invested in his clients’ growth and success. Training with him has been a gift.
If you’re seeking a top-tier training experience in NYC, I cannot recommend this gym—and Joe—highly enough.
